Poem: Foster Kitten “Stella” (unpublished)

Rescue foster kitten

Stella was the runt from the first litter of kittens I fostered for the Richmond SPCA. She was the strangest looking kitten I’d ever seen; a Frankenstein kind of creature. None of her body parts matched and she was the size of a mouse. But she didn’t know that. She had the spirit, heart and pluck that made Angelina Jolie look stupid, selfish and weak. I named her loosely after the character in A Street Car Named Desire because, like the character, she mirrored a bridge between two poles. Yes, she was that special.
